The Weapons of Our Warfare-The Blood of Jesus

The Weapons of Our Warfare- The Blood of Jesus

by Andre McKenzie

I once heard a man of God say before he drank of the Communion cup, that the Blood of Jesus was “the most powerful substance in all the universe”. That statement jumped out at me ,because I’ve known for a fact and by experience that this is true. The scriptures says in the Book of Revelations:
7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Rev 12:7-11 (NKJV)

The Blood of the Lamb- that’s Jesus who was the sacrificial lamb slain before the foundation of the world. Jesus never possessed the sinful Adamic blood that the rest of mankind had. His blood was from God, because he was born of the virgin Mary who was impregnated by the Holy Spirit. It was stated in the Old Testament:
11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’

Lev 17:11 (NKJV)
The Atonement

Anytime God made a covenant with man it was through a Blood Covenant-It was the most powerful agreement you could make. In Israel, The yearly Day of Atonement was made through the sacrifice offering unto God of a bull and two rams to take away their sins for one full year. One ram was the sacrifice and the other was the scapegoat, the sins were passed into it and was set free into the wilderness. The bull was a offering for each individual home. The priest would pour the blood upon the mercy seat of God in the temple and the sins would be covered for one year. Jesus shed Blood on the cross at Calvary was the sin eraser, for He became the scapegoat. He poured His blood on the mercy seat of God as a sin offering for mankind forever, all we do is confess Him as our Lord and Savior and we’re sin free, praise the Lord! We’ve become righteous.
11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

Heb 9:11-12 (NKJV)
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him

2 Cor 5:21 (NKJV)
Protection

In Exodus when the children of Israel were under Egyptian bondage, God directed Moses to go tell Pharaoh to “Let my people go!”. Pharaoh refused to let them go free and God sent plagues upon all the land of Egypt. After a plague was upon the land, God would tell Moses to ask Pharaoh would he now let Israel go? Pharaoh would tell Moses he will let them go so that the plague would cease, but after God would stop the plague, Pharaoh would change his mind and hold on to the children of Israel. This occurred nine times and Pharaoh continued to hold on to God’s people. After the ninth time the Lord instructed Moses he would send a plague that would cause the firstborn of the Egyptians and their animals to die.
4 Then Moses said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt; 5 and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the animals. 6 Then there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was not like it before, nor shall be like it again. 7 But against none of the children of Israel shall a dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the Lord does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.’

Ex 11:4-7 (NKJV)
Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth day of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household.

Ex 12:3 (NKJV)
5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. 6 Now you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight. 7 And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.

Ex 12:5-7 (NKJV)
It is the Lord’s Passover. 12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. 13 Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

Ex 12:11-13 (NKJV)

Notice the blood of the lamb was symbolic or a point of contact of protection for God’s people. Today the blood of Jesus shed on the cross is not only a shield but an actual offensive weapon for the body of Christ. The forces of the kingdom of darkness can not penetrate or prevail against the Blood.
Testimonies

I once heard an astounding account of a born-again Spirit-filled woman who apparently went to a bank to transact some business and the bank was held up. Heavily armed gunmen had taken control of the bank. The gunmen pushed all the bank personnel and clients into a back room and made them all lay face down on the floor. After bagging all the banks cash, the robbers apparently decided to not leave any eyewitnesses and began to one by one shoot all the hostages in the head. As this execution was unfolding this Spirit-filled sister began to plead the Blood of Jesus audibly over and over again. When the gunman who was doing the slaying came upon her he stopped, froze for a few seconds, looked at her and said “I cant kill this one!’, He turned from her and went over to the next victim and resumed his carnage. This lady appropriated the supernatural protection of the Blood of Jesus and the demon that had control of this murderer could not harm her. Praise the Lord.

There were several occasions where I was confronted by people who unprovoked flew into a rage against me hollering obscenities and threatening me. I kept my composure and said “the Blood of Jesus! the Blood of Jesus! the blood of Jesus is against you! repeatedly. After several tense seconds, the continence of this one guy turned 180 degrees and he calmed down. He told me he didn’t know what had come over him and apologized. I wanted to tell him, I knew what had come over him-the devil!

Another person that I knew who acted as if they were about to attack me when I pleaded the Blood against them, they froze, turned around 180 degrees and walked away without saying another word. Praise God! The enemy will use any yielded vessel that he finds to oppose God’s children whether its friend or foe.

There have been times that I had fallen asleep and I knew from experience that I was dreaming and it was becoming a nightmare. The atmosphere of the dream was menacing. I was attempting to say, “the Blood of Jesus,” but it was hard to come out of my mouth, but I succeeded. I found out upon awakening, I was actually saying “the blood of Jesus” with my mouth in reality in my bed. Speaking or pleading the Blood repels the enemy. All the power that Jesus has is in His Name and His Blood. Demons can’t stand to hear you mention the Blood, it disrupts their operations which are evil.

A few years ago, I was driving along a road and heard the Spirit of the Lord speak to me, not an audible voice but that still small voice inside me. He said “You haven’t covered your children today”, and I immediately said out loud “I cover my children with the Blood of Jesus, and I thank you for their safety Lord in Jesus name, Amen. To this day I remember approximately the area where this occurred. A day or so later I was speaking to my daughter Courtney’s mother Criss on the phone. We were just casually talking when Criss asked me had Courtney spoken to me about the car accident she was in the other day? Caught totally by surprise I said, No! What accident ? She proceeded to give me the details. Courtney (who was in her teens at the time) was in a car with a girlfriend and the friends mother who was driving. They were in a collision that sent the mother and her friend to the hospital for injuries but Courtney was left unharmed except for a very small bump on her leg. Glory to God! My daughter had been protected from tragedy by the Blood of the Lamb. As the head of my family, I’m the covering for my children. I have the authority to keep the enemy from touching them, it doesn’t matter where they are. God sees all, knows all, His Spirit prompted my spirit to loose the Blood over my kids, He knew the enemy was setting up an accident for my child to cause destruction because he’s the destroyer. I now daily cover my family with the Blood.
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 10:10 (NKJV)
44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

John 8:44 (NKJV)

Faith in the name, faith in the Word, faith in the Blood of Jesus. Trust in it , believe it, confess it. Cover your family with the Blood, cover your home and possessions with it. Just say:” I cover my son with the Blood of Jesus”! I place a Bloodline around my house! If danger is approaching, Just say ,I plead the Blood, I loose the Blood against you in Jesus name. Just simply say the Blood! the enemy is stilled ,Satan cannot penetrate it. This is just a sample of the power of the Blood. In this teaching I gave examples from my experiences with it just to let you know anyone who’s born-again, can in faith reap the miraculous benefits of the Blood of the Lamb. Give all thanks and Glory unto the Lord! BTTIZ –

My Big Brother is Going to Get You!

My Big Brother is Going to Get You!

By

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Romans 8:28-29 (NKJV)

Jesus is our Lord and Savior, Commander and Chief, Head of the Church, We’re seated with Him at the right hand of the Father. He will be the Judge of all mankind in the Day of Judgment, He’s King of the whole world in the new millennia and He’s also our Big Brother.

I remember, growing up as a youth, my little sister Leslie, would from time to time get into confrontations with guys in our old neighborhood. Now these guys were bigger than Leslie but her bigger mouth was usually what caused the incident in the first place. But every time she would tell the guy, “My Big Brother is going to get you!”Well ,I was “the Big Brother”. Now, I was no tough guy by any stretch of the imagination, but these guys knew that she wouldn’t be their opponent  but her Big Brother was. I was the one that was going to bring an end to this melodrama but nine times out of ten nothing came of it. But the point was that my sister was letting them know that someone bigger and stronger than herself was going to deal with them. That’s the relationship we have with our Elder Brother Jesus.  Now he’s the “King of Kings” and the “Lord of Lord’s” and we do honor Him with praise and worship and our obedience. But He’s the Son of God and we born again Believers are also. It’s His name that we call on in times of trouble. When we speak to an illness that’s attempting to subdue us, it’s His name spoken in faith that the sickness must bow down to.

6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,

Phil 2:6-10 (NKJV)

If the enemy attacks us physically in the natural we call on his name in faith and the enemy must stop his assault and flee. Jesus as the King has multitudes of angels for our service to bring about a great deliverance. When an emergency arrives and we ask or demand in His name, the whole Kingdom of Heaven is ready to move on our behalf. If your car suddenly loses control and is heading toward a cliff or if a gang of hoodlums are about to attack you call His name: JESUS! and receive your deliverance.

14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

Heb 1:14 (NKJV)

3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation

Heb 2:3 (NKJV)

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 14:12-14 (KJV)

That word “ask” according to Strong’s Concordance translates demand. You’re placing a demand on the name that is above every name in Heaven and on Earth. The name of “The Great I Am”, “the Alpha and the Omega,” “the First and the Last,” He’s the” Begining and the End.”  Meditate  and confess John 14:13-14 till faith comes. And when an emergency arrives and there’s no time to pray, do like my sister Leslie and call on your Big Brother: Jesus, He’s bigger than all of them. Shalom. – BTTIZ

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

John 8:44 (KJV)

If Satan had a radio station, it’s call letters could possibly be W.L.I.E. or K.L.I.E. depending on what part of the country you’re in. Their trademark motto would be: “More Lies… More Often”! In the style of the radio announcers of old, he would blare his trademark motto several times a day , five days a week. In reality as the god of this world system, he does it all day,7 days a week. The people he has set up over these world institutions primarily the media, who proceed to spread his lies instead of what the Word of God says.

  •  He’ll tell you that “the United States is no longer a Christian nation”. When in fact it continues to send out more missionaries than any other nation in the world.18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.Matt 16:18 (KJV)
  • He’ll tell you that “there is suppose to be a separation of church and state”. The Bibles and prayer were taken out of the school’s back in the 60’s and persecution of the church is increasing. In spite of darkness increasing, more people are coming  in to the church giving their lives to Jesus. And prayer is going forth in the land to push back the forces of the evil one. The Master Himself told us:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”John 16:33 (NKJV)There are others: Abortion is a woman’s right , homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle. “There are many ways to God”. Lies… lies…and more lies. Tune into the truth station. W.O.R.D.- the God station. The Holy Bible. Where you hear the Truth the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth! What did Jesus say about the truth?

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.John 14:6 (NKJV)

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.John 8:31-32 (KJV)

Do not be deceived by what the enemy pushes as acceptable, it brings the curse, it only leads to destruction. If it doesn’t agree with God’s Word don’t buy it.

15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee Deut 28:15 (KJV)

The Master has redeemed us from the curse but we continue in His Word.

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.John 6:63 (KJV)

Put Him First

Put Him First

By

Andre bigstockphoto_jesus_in_usa_855922

37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

Matt 10:37-39 (NKJV)

When you first read this it sounds like the Lord wants you to take sides when it comes to family and dedication to Him, well He does! You see It’s right to love your family as we all should but Jesus is the Master and he can do far more for us  than any of our family members could ever imagine. We are to follow Him and put him first in all matters, I’m learning that by doing so, everyone you come into contact with will be blessed as well as  yourself.

For an example I had a task to work on some Kingdom project for the Lord but at he same time a close family member had an event that they wanted me to attend. It was an important occasion but the time was already reserved for me to work on my kingdom project. Disappointment was forecast among the family for my not attending, but the Lord comes first. Afterward all was well among the family and myself. You see God can always turn a seemingly bad situation into a non-event,  when you place Him first.

I’ve heard a man of God  once say that the Lord told him to move to another town to attend Bible college. But His Pastor tried to talk him in to staying because he was such a blessing to the ministry. He also had relatives that became ill and he felt that he should postpone his leaving to look after them. The Lord spoke to him and said,” If you take care of My business, I will take care of your business”. Praise God , that’s all he needed to hear. The young minister went on to Bible College, his family members were healed and all became well at his old church. All was well because he heeded the call of the Lord and put Him first. This brother today has an anointed ministry that’s becoming well known across the globe. You see when your life is buried in Christ, He has you covered.

1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

John 15:4-5 (NKJV)

Take up your cross and follow Him. Shalom. – BTTIZ

The Word

The Word

By

The Word of God is the way we as believers gain access to the Kingdom of God. God has placed His power in the Word of God. It is written in the book of Isaiah:

10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper
in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

John 1:1-4 (NKJV)

As it says in Isaiah God’s Word shall not return to Him void it will accomplish what it was created to do. If you need a healing, get a scripture on healing. If you desire wisdom, obtain a scripture on wisdom. The beginning of the gospel of John, it tells us that Jesus is the Word of God. In verse 14 we’re told that the Word became the man Jesus.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth

John 1:14 (NKJV)

Jesus said: The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63 (NKJV)

The Word is the problem solver, the basis of our prayers, our confessions of faith, our dominion over the works of the enemy. The Word is what the Lord used in the wilderness when He was tempted of the devil; He responded by saying “it is written”. He spokethe writtenWord of God.

The Roman Centurion told Jesus, “you don’t have to come to my house, just send the Word only and my servant shall be healed”. Jesus said He hasn’t seen such great faith in all of Israel. (Matthew 8:13)

Jesus cast devils out with His Word.

16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,

Matt 8:16 (NKJV)

The seed is the Word of God: 14 the sower sows the word.

Mark 4:14 (NKJV)

Christians today must come to understand that God gave us Himself in the Word to accomplish what He would perform by His mighty hand. What ever the Lord can do His Word can do. We must rid ourselves of religion and tradition and learn about what the Word of God can perform. We must submit our selves unto the Word; it gives us instructions on how we are to live our lives as the children of Almighty God. It reveals to us the heart and character of God. It shows us our spiritual heritage and examples of those that went before us such as Abraham, Moses, David and Samson. It’s our marching orders from our Commander and Chief- Jesus to go out and dominate the world until he comes back for us. It’s called the sword of the spirit, the only offensive weapon in the Armor of God. It’s the incorruptible seed that does not fade away.

Many people today, believe the Bible is an ancient book that’s become irrelevant, that’s a very naïve and untrue statement. The enemy knows that the Word, on a Believers tongue, spoken in faith will defeat every wicked plan he can conceive. That’s why he wants the Bible out of every American institution. The Word is incorruptible seed that produces a harvest in anyone’s life that sows it, believes it and acts on it.

In my life I have used the Word to:

Eliminate debt

Overcome behavioral problems in my children

Cancel marital strife.

Obtain wisdom from the Lord.

Change bad work environments.

Divine protection for myself and my family.

Help others overcome life’s challenges through prayer.

Found innocent after being unjustly accused.

Healing.

Employment for other Believers.

The list goes on and on, this stands as a testimony to the glory and the power of God. Praise the Lord!

Hebrews 4:12 (Amp)

For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.

We’re ambassadors of Christ and citizens of heaven; we’re in the world but not of it. We’re supposed to operate on a higher level than the world. Far above all principalities, powers and spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies. My brothers and sisters, Read the Word, meditate on the Word, confess the Word, speak the Word to your mountain in faith and stay with it until its removed and cast into the sea, in Jesus name.

Jesus the Word defeated the devil at the cross. He not only died for our sins but got us out of the clutches of the evil one. And He left His Word here with the Holy Spirit our Comforter.

12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Col 1:11-14 (NKJV)

The Masters Law of Faith

In the 11th chapter of the book of Mark, Jesus gave us probably the greatest yet simplest law in the Bible concerning our words, the power of faith. While leaving the town of Bethany with his disciples, Jesus was hungry and came upon a fig tree:

12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: 13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Mark 11:12-14 (KJV)

19 And when even was come, he went out of the city. 20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Mark 11:19-26 (KJV)

Take notice that in verse 22 Jesus said Have in faith God, the King James center column reference says have the faith of God

In Genesis 1, God spoke words, He said” let there be light” and light was.

In Matthew 8:16-Jesus cast out demons with His word.

Joshua 10: 11-14: Joshua commanded the sun and the moon to be still for a whole day until the nation of Israel defeated the Amorites.

Possibly one of the best examples of God’s people speaking words of faith is in 1Samuel 17, the account of young David going up against the giant Philistine warrior Goliath. Now all of the fighting men of Israel were afraid to go out against the boasting and threats of Goliath. They were frightened of this 9 foot man. So dire was the situation that King Saul offered, his daughter’s hand in marriage, riches, and exemption from taxes to whomever would go out to confront and slay Goliath. David who had been anointed by the prophet Samuel wanted a crack at Goliath. It didn’t take him long to convince King Saul to let him try.

40 Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine. 41 So the Philistine came, and began drawing near to David, and the man who bore the shield went before him. 42 And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking. 43 So the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!” 45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” 48 So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hastened and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 49 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. 51 Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.

1 Sam 17:40-51 (NKJV)

Now let’s observe what transpired here, David is a covenant man, a Hebrew, the seed of Abraham. He knew that in Deuteronomy 28, the promise of god says:

1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: 3

Deut 28:1-3 (NKJV)

7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

Deut 28:7 (NKJV)

I believe as David spoke and acted upon his words, that when he let loose with the stone from his sling that an angel caused it to accelerate at such a force that it instantly killed Goliath. David’s predictions:

I’ll strike you.

I’m going to take your head off.

And I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth.

Now after seeing the first two predictions come to past, I believe the Philistines decided not to stick around for third and final one to happen and fled. David had victory because he believed the Word of God and spoke what he wanted the outcome to be.

Case of the Scratchy Throat

One winter I was doing a great deal of driving to work and other various activities and was not getting a lot of rest. My throat was getting scratchy I was getting chills and runny nose, a sure sign of a cold or flu taking root. I was not about to succumb to any illness, the flu can last for weeks, and I didn’t desire it for one day. I grabbed a booklet we use in our ministry and fed on some healing scriptures. I confessed them, read them audibly to my self several times. I personalized 1Peter 2:24: by Jesus stripes I were healed. Psalms 103: Who forgives all my iniquities and heals all my diseases and several others healing verses to go with them. I fell asleep and woke up the next morning feeling great, praise the Lord. Now this happened to me several other times that winter and the Word gave me victory over the symptoms every time.

Remember Jesus said in Mark 4:14 that the sower sows the Word! Brothers and Sisters let go of denominational teaching and tradition. The Lord said you’ve made the Word of God of none effect because of this. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. You can go where it’s heard, preached and taught, you can hear it here and speak it to yourself. It’s our offensive weapon in the armor of God, the sword of the Spirit. Use It! Rebellion!

Rebellion!

1 Samuel 15:21-23 (NKJV)
21 But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.”
22 So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.”

Rebellion is defined as; the open resistance to authority, disobedience, mutiny, insurrection, insubordination, anarchy, revolt, etc. These are not very good terms are they? Would you want to fellowship with someone with these traits? No, you wouldn’t, well God looks at it the same way. In Galatians 5:20,it  lists witchcraft as a work of the flesh, in other terms, it’s sin.

Witchcraft:(As defined in Bible History Online) The word “witch” seems to denote etymologically “one that knows. Since the 13th century the word “witch” has come more and more to denote a woman who has formed a compact with the Devil or with evil spirits, by whose aid she is able to cause all sorts of injury to living beings and to things. The term “witchcraft” means in modern English the arts and practices of such women. But there are also male witches or wizards. One trait of witchcraft is to control another person to act against their will.

God has given us a free will, we can choose to obey His Word or rebel and disregard them. He desires for us to submit willingly to His commandments  and enjoy a long healthy life. He doesn’t put pressure on us to follow His Word, although it would be wise to do so. He never intended for man to dominate man. That’s why the Lord hates witchcraft. God and His Word are the Highest authority. There is also a system of authority here on earth that we must submit to such as a police officer over a citizen, a teacher over a student or a supervisor over an employee.

Deuteronomy 30:19 (NKJV)
19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.

I believe that disobedience to God commandments can eliminate trips to the emergency room and to the funeral home. As we obey God’s Word, we come under God’s perfect will and protection in Christ Jesus. 1John 5:18 says:

1 John 5:18 (KJV)
18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
When we rebel  against the Lord it’s like a child that’s walking across an intersection holding his parents hand. Then suddenly the child snatches his hand out of his parent’s hand, breaks away and runs into oncoming traffic. That child had been previously instructed to stay close and hold dad or mom’s hand, but he decided to  disobey and now has  placed himself in danger. Now the results may not be so immediate as in this example but continually sinning you can become callous because up to this time nothing bad has happened. God is merciful, He alerts and warns us but we can ignore or become desensitized and don’t hear Him speaking.

If God instructs us not to indulge in sexual sins, perversion, stealing, lying, strife, anger, backbiting, etc. He’s saying for us to stay away because these things because they have death attached to them. He loves us and wants to protect us. The unsaved have no restraint, because the world teaches or influences people to do just the opposite of what God tells us.

There are many preachers today that don’t preach against sin, but it’s also part of the Gospel. Because the Word warns us to stay away from evil in order to live under the blessings according to Deuteronomy 28:1-15. I know anyone in their right mind desires to live a life of blessing. “We are in the last days”, “the beginning of sorrows” that the Lord spoke of in Matthew 24. The wickedness and evil that permeates today is because Satan knows his time is short according to Revelations 12:12. As believers we must stay in the protection and the grace of God and remain obedient to His Word.  Jesus told us  in John 10:10:

John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

If you’ve sinned, repent! Ask God for forgiveness and He’ll bring you back into fellowship with Him.

1 John 1:9 (NKJV)
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

One man of God said; “If you want the blessed, abundant life, just read the red and do what He(Jesus) said!” The devil is not stealing anything of mine, how about you? Be  Blessed, Shalom!-BTTIZ
