My Big Brother is Going to Get You!
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Romans 8:28-29 (NKJV)
Jesus is our Lord and Savior, Commander and Chief, Head of the Church, We’re seated with Him at the right hand of the Father. He will be the Judge of all mankind in the Day of Judgment, He’s King of the whole world in the new millennia and He’s also our Big Brother.
I remember, growing up as a youth, my little sister Leslie, would from time to time get into confrontations with guys in our old neighborhood. Now these guys were bigger than Leslie but her bigger mouth was usually what caused the incident in the first place. But every time she would tell the guy, “My Big Brother is going to get you!”Well ,I was “the Big Brother”. Now, I was no tough guy by any stretch of the imagination, but these guys knew that she wouldn’t be their opponent but her Big Brother was. I was the one that was going to bring an end to this melodrama but nine times out of ten nothing came of it. But the point was that my sister was letting them know that someone bigger and stronger than herself was going to deal with them. That’s the relationship we have with our Elder Brother Jesus. Now he’s the “King of Kings” and the “Lord of Lord’s” and we do honor Him with praise and worship and our obedience. But He’s the Son of God and we born again Believers are also. It’s His name that we call on in times of trouble. When we speak to an illness that’s attempting to subdue us, it’s His name spoken in faith that the sickness must bow down to.
6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
Phil 2:6-10 (NKJV)
If the enemy attacks us physically in the natural we call on his name in faith and the enemy must stop his assault and flee. Jesus as the King has multitudes of angels for our service to bring about a great deliverance. When an emergency arrives and we ask or demand in His name, the whole Kingdom of Heaven is ready to move on our behalf. If your car suddenly loses control and is heading toward a cliff or if a gang of hoodlums are about to attack you call His name: JESUS! and receive your deliverance.
14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
Heb 1:14 (NKJV)
3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation
Heb 2:3 (NKJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
John 14:12-14 (KJV)
That word “ask” according to Strong’s Concordance translates demand. You’re placing a demand on the name that is above every name in Heaven and on Earth. The name of “The Great I Am”, “the Alpha and the Omega,” “the First and the Last,” He’s the” Begining and the End.” Meditate and confess John 14:13-14 till faith comes. And when an emergency arrives and there’s no time to pray, do like my sister Leslie and call on your Big Brother: Jesus, He’s bigger than all of them. Shalom. – BTTIZ
