Jesus is Still the Healer

Jesus is Still the Healer

The Redeemer

In the Gospel of John the Lord Jesus makes a statement, that leaves no doubt to who brings sickness and disease upon mankind:

10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 10:9-10 (NKJV)

Jesus was speaking of Satan the devil, he illegally stole the planet from Adam and all of mankind until Jesus came and took it back. There was no sickness in the earth until Adam disobeyed God and ate of the tree of The knowledge of good and evil. God told him:

16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Gen 2:16-17 (NKJV)

Well we know the rest of the story, Satan became “‘god of this world” and all the curses that was in him were unleashed in the world. But Jesus came and took authority over the devil.

8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:7-8 (NKJV)

38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Acts 10:38 (NKJV)

It didn’t matter what the sickness was or wherever the disease came from Jesus delivered the person who was hurting. Lets checkout a few cases from the Bible to check out a few examples of divine healing administered by the Lord.

The Centurion

In the Gospel of Matthew, there is an account of Jesus entering the city of Capernaum, being approached by a Roman centurion who desperately needed Him.

5 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, 6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” 7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!

Matt 8:5-10 (NKJV)

Notice how Jesus responded after the centurion’s earnest request, “I will come and heal him.” Then the centurion told The Lord, that he understood authority and if Jesus would only send a Word, that his servant would be healed. Jesus was pleased and told him that He had not seen such great faith in all of Israel. Notice first Jesus had compassion to come and administer healing upon request. Secondly, the centurion believed in the authority of Jesus words  he told the Master that He didn’t even have to come to his home because Jesus Word alone would heal his servant.

13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

Matt 8:12-13 (NKJV)

The centurion had a need for his servant to healed and made a request of the Master, but his faith was in the authority of Jesus’ Word.

The Woman with the Issue of Blood

In the fifth chapter of the Book of Mark, there was the account of the woman with the issue of blood. Jesus was on His way to heal  a ruler of the synagogue named Jairus’s daughter. On their way to Jairus home a large crowd gathered and proceeded with them.

25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” 29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” 31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, Who touched Me?’ “ 32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

Mark 5:25-34 (NKJV)

Now this woman, had dealt with her affliction for twelve long years, she had spent all her money on doctors  who not only didn’t cure her but her condition worsened. I can only imagine how this woman felt not having a normal life for what must have seemed like a lifetime. I heard it was a Jewish law that a woman in her condition couldn’t be in public. But when she heard about “Jesus, the healer” was coming through, her desire caused her to claim, that by just touching His clothes she will be healed. Remember in Mark 5:27 it said, she had heard about Jesus,

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

    She heard and believed that Jesus was healing all who were sick and afflicted. After a dozen years this lady had both the need and desire and she spoke what she wanted to happen. Her faith in her words and her actions ignited the power in Jesus and she had what she said;

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Mark 11:22-24 (KJV)

It’s by faith in the Word of God and believing you receive that your healing will come.

Healing in Jesus Name

I once laid hands on a sister, who had complained of chest pains. I commanded the pain to leave her body in Jesus name, and spoke to her heart to function as God created them to function.  The pain in her chest left her. Praise the Lord!

I laid hands on a little 1 year old girl who had a fever and loosed the blood of Jesus over her in Jesus name and the fever subsided.

I personally injured my small  finger on my right hand so bad that I couldn’t shake the hand of a small child without wincing in pain. I went to a Healing School meeting and Gloria Copeland taught healing scriptures and near the end, prayed over the whole congregation. She told everyone to,” receive your healing for whatever you need in Jesus name”. Well I received it for my finger and the pain in the finger left and never returned. Understand This finger was bothering me for 2 whole months and say what you will, but I believe in applying the Word instead of going to the doctor. I have to admit I became to busy to look after the finger, but thank the Lord for Sister Gloria.

These are just a few examples just to show you its not by some great power possessed by me or anyone else that healing comes because God is no respecter of persons. If you’ll study his Word on healing  and hear and listen to healing teachings then faith will come for your healing. Speak the Word to whatever disease or sickness that is in you or your loved ones body and command it to leave. Until then you can always find a believer who will administer prayer with the laying on of hands.

15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Mark 16:15-18 (NKJV)

You may have been taught by certain denominations that teach that healing has passed away, that’s not in the Bible, but this is:

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

John 14:12 (KJV)

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Heb 13:7-8 (NKJV)

24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.

1 Peter 2:24 (NKJV)

Jesus is still healing today by His Word and through His Body The Church. The Physicians may not be able to cure it but Jesus can and will, just Believe and Receive. BTTIZ
