The Word

The Word of God is the way we as believers gain access to the Kingdom of God. God has placed His power in the Word of God. It is written in the book of Isaiah:
10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
John 1:1-4 (NKJV)
As it says in Isaiah God’s Word shall not return to Him void it will accomplish what it was created to do. If you need a healing, get a scripture on healing. If you desire wisdom, obtain a scripture on wisdom. The beginning of the gospel of John, it tells us that Jesus is the Word of God. In verse 14 we’re told that the Word became the man Jesus.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth
John 1:14 (NKJV)
Jesus said: The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63 (NKJV)
The Word is the problem solver, the basis of our prayers, our confessions of faith, our dominion over the works of the enemy. The Word is what the Lord used in the wilderness when He was tempted of the devil; He responded by saying “it is written”. He spokethe writtenWord of God.
The Roman Centurion told Jesus, “you don’t have to come to my house, just send the Word only and my servant shall be healed”. Jesus said He hasn’t seen such great faith in all of Israel. (Matthew 8:13)
Jesus cast devils out with His Word.
16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
Matt 8:16 (NKJV)
The seed is the Word of God: 14 the sower sows the word.
Mark 4:14 (NKJV)
Christians today must come to understand that God gave us Himself in the Word to accomplish what He would perform by His mighty hand. What ever the Lord can do His Word can do. We must rid ourselves of religion and tradition and learn about what the Word of God can perform. We must submit our selves unto the Word; it gives us instructions on how we are to live our lives as the children of Almighty God. It reveals to us the heart and character of God. It shows us our spiritual heritage and examples of those that went before us such as Abraham, Moses, David and Samson. It’s our marching orders from our Commander and Chief- Jesus to go out and dominate the world until he comes back for us. It’s called the sword of the spirit, the only offensive weapon in the Armor of God. It’s the incorruptible seed that does not fade away.
Many people today, believe the Bible is an ancient book that’s become irrelevant, that’s a very naïve and untrue statement. The enemy knows that the Word, on a Believers tongue, spoken in faith will defeat every wicked plan he can conceive. That’s why he wants the Bible out of every American institution. The Word is incorruptible seed that produces a harvest in anyone’s life that sows it, believes it and acts on it.
In my life I have used the Word to:
Eliminate debt
Overcome behavioral problems in my children
Cancel marital strife.
Obtain wisdom from the Lord.
Change bad work environments.
Divine protection for myself and my family.
Help others overcome life’s challenges through prayer.
Found innocent after being unjustly accused.
Healing.
Employment for other Believers.
The list goes on and on, this stands as a testimony to the glory and the power of God. Praise the Lord!
Hebrews 4:12 (Amp)
For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
We’re ambassadors of Christ and citizens of heaven; we’re in the world but not of it. We’re supposed to operate on a higher level than the world. Far above all principalities, powers and spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies. My brothers and sisters, Read the Word, meditate on the Word, confess the Word, speak the Word to your mountain in faith and stay with it until its removed and cast into the sea, in Jesus name.
Jesus the Word defeated the devil at the cross. He not only died for our sins but got us out of the clutches of the evil one. And He left His Word here with the Holy Spirit our Comforter.
12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Col 1:11-14 (NKJV)
The Masters Law of Faith
In the 11th chapter of the book of Mark, Jesus gave us probably the greatest yet simplest law in the Bible concerning our words, the power of faith. While leaving the town of Bethany with his disciples, Jesus was hungry and came upon a fig tree:
12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: 13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
Mark 11:12-14 (KJV)
19 And when even was come, he went out of the city. 20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Mark 11:19-26 (KJV)
Take notice that in verse 22 Jesus said Have in faith God, the King James center column reference says have the faith of God
In Genesis 1, God spoke words, He said” let there be light” and light was.
In Matthew 8:16-Jesus cast out demons with His word.
Joshua 10: 11-14: Joshua commanded the sun and the moon to be still for a whole day until the nation of Israel defeated the Amorites.
Possibly one of the best examples of God’s people speaking words of faith is in 1Samuel 17, the account of young David going up against the giant Philistine warrior Goliath. Now all of the fighting men of Israel were afraid to go out against the boasting and threats of Goliath. They were frightened of this 9 foot man. So dire was the situation that King Saul offered, his daughter’s hand in marriage, riches, and exemption from taxes to whomever would go out to confront and slay Goliath. David who had been anointed by the prophet Samuel wanted a crack at Goliath. It didn’t take him long to convince King Saul to let him try.
40 Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine. 41 So the Philistine came, and began drawing near to David, and the man who bore the shield went before him. 42 And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking. 43 So the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!” 45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” 48 So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hastened and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 49 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. 51 Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.
1 Sam 17:40-51 (NKJV)
Now let’s observe what transpired here, David is a covenant man, a Hebrew, the seed of Abraham. He knew that in Deuteronomy 28, the promise of god says:
1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: 3
Deut 28:1-3 (NKJV)
7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
Deut 28:7 (NKJV)
I believe as David spoke and acted upon his words, that when he let loose with the stone from his sling that an angel caused it to accelerate at such a force that it instantly killed Goliath. David’s predictions:
I’ll strike you.
I’m going to take your head off.
And I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth.
Now after seeing the first two predictions come to past, I believe the Philistines decided not to stick around for third and final one to happen and fled. David had victory because he believed the Word of God and spoke what he wanted the outcome to be.
Case of the Scratchy Throat
One winter I was doing a great deal of driving to work and other various activities and was not getting a lot of rest. My throat was getting scratchy I was getting chills and runny nose, a sure sign of a cold or flu taking root. I was not about to succumb to any illness, the flu can last for weeks, and I didn’t desire it for one day. I grabbed a booklet we use in our ministry and fed on some healing scriptures. I confessed them, read them audibly to my self several times. I personalized 1Peter 2:24: by Jesus stripes I were healed. Psalms 103: Who forgives all my iniquities and heals all my diseases and several others healing verses to go with them. I fell asleep and woke up the next morning feeling great, praise the Lord. Now this happened to me several other times that winter and the Word gave me victory over the symptoms every time.
Remember Jesus said in Mark 4:14 that the sower sows the Word! Brothers and Sisters let go of denominational teaching and tradition. The Lord said you’ve made the Word of God of none effect because of this. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. You can go where it’s heard, preached and taught, you can hear it here and speak it to yourself. It’s our offensive weapon in the armor of God, the sword of the Spirit. Use It! Shalom!- BTTIZ!
